Yes, it's September already. Some areas are already beginning to do their seasonal shift, while here in Arizona we are still shifting around with a triple digit heat advisory. The hustle of life keeps moving and we have to move forward with it. Even though the summer is coming to an end, Summertime lotion gives you a way to unwind and live easy at any time.
This is that lotion, the one made with Prickly Pear Riesling and other skin loving ingredients that a no one could quite choose a name for. That was one peculiar note but the other was that without a name and not having labels on the bottles, the first batch sold out. I was working to put the second batch of lotion into bottles and sought naming inspiration from my summer music playlist. Simultaneously as I began to pump lotion into the bottle, a whiff of the fragrance drifted pass my nose and Ella Fitzgerald sang "summertime and the livin' is easy." That made me smile as I noticed that the fragrance of this lotion is "easy" and kind of laid back. A few songs later, when I rubbed the lotion I spilled onto my arm, the Fresh Prince rapped "summertime, time to sit back and unwind." I couldn't resist it and the lotion with no name is now "Summertime."
Summertime is a soft, lightweight lotions and glides on your skin and absorbs right in. When the recipe was put together, natural oils and butters that moisturize, nourish and protect were chosen. Yes, the lotion is made with a combination of Prickly Pear Riesling and aloe vera juice as the water base. NO you can't drink the lotion, but the antioxidants from the wine and the polysaccharides of the aloe vera juice give hydrating,
anti-inflammatory benefits and a protective barrier on your skin. Summertime also has a blend of natural oils whose properties are known to be beneficial to hydrate, nourish, moisturize and protect your skin. Those properties come from the antioxidants and the multitude of vitamins in the oils. And then there's that fragrance. It is pleasantly different and not quite definable. It is a fragrance that men and women may appreciate, rich amber and sweet cactus pear surround the fragrance of the elusive ghost flower. It's soft but not weak, floral but not girly, it's just easy. You have to smell it to understand why you'll feel like taking 2 steps back and chilling a bit.
